Grand Achievement: Allah’s Pleasure

Some difficulties become so dear after you realize how it contained a message for your guidance. Some blessings become so despicable after you realize they became a means of your misguidance. A believer’s trial beautifies his inner self and cleanses the blocked pores of his mind so that it accepts the Noor that is within the Quraan…it is when his eyes  see hidaya, his ears hear only hidaya and his feet take him to hidaya regardless of the number of fitaa’in in the path. His concern becomes his Lord’s Pleasure and only that concern triggers his mood, happiness, sadness, peace and restlessness. And with that concern in mind, the believer behaves accordingly. His goal is Allah’s Pleasure and the biggest achievement is His Pleasure. An achievement greater than achieving Jannah:

“Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women gardens, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual abode; and best of all is Allah’s goodly pleasure; that is the grand achievement.” [At-Tawbah 9:72]

And in His Will and Pleasure, the believers submit and are also pleased.

After all the goal of every human’s life is happiness. He works over-time to earn enough money to buy things that will make him happy. He marries selectively to find the right person and in turn to ensure happiness. He pursues a certain career to get ‘that’ satisfaction and thus happiness.

Whether that brings happiness every time, Allah SWT knows best. But the nature of that happiness is temporary if the intention is to seek personal happiness only.

The permanent sort of happiness can be only sought through His Pleasure. He SWT is Our Source of Happiness.

“Allah will say: This is the day when their truth shall benefit the truthful ones; they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide in them for ever: Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Allah; this is the mighty achievement.” [Al Maeda 5:119]

As a Muslim, one should fulfill the Haqq, the obligations of that Noble Pledge we’ve taken as a Muslim. We should feel proud of it because it brings us opportunities towards a human’s greatest achievement–>Allah SWT’s Pleasure:

Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah’s way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge, which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement. [At-Tawbah 9:111]

And Allah SWT knows Best.
