Interesting Quotes on Happiness and Wisdom

I came across some interesting quotes which do not contradict Islam. Most of the quotes attributed to non-Muslim scholars/thinkers I went through were a summarized version of some ahadith of the Prophet SAW. These very quotes are used by Muslims nowadays but what they don’t realize is that  it’s the Prophet SAW who said it first. Muslims should wake up. And I should probably end my usual  lecture.

A quote on Happiness which I didn’t completely understand and not many people will. It’s based on the idea of dispersion using prism:

The rays of happiness, like those of light, are colourless when unbroken.

Henry W. Longfellow

A quote on Wisdom. Something I wish to achieve. I don’t completely agree with this one because sometimes it’s not your age which grants you wisdom. There are many who are young, yet very wise. Likewise, many who’ve aged but totally lack wisdom. Anyway, I liked the way it has an expectation associated with age:

The more sand that has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it.

Jean Paul
