Popularity and Blessings

Asalamoalaykum warahmatullah,

I guess I’m getting a little too popular. The hits I got for yesterday surpassed the previous records.

Preferring anonymity, I feel a little uncomfy.

Anyhow, I thought I’d share a blessing with all my readers.

Yes the blessing of sight! Alhamdolilah, that’s something everyone who’s reading this, has.

Calgary’s fall(autumn) is spectacular. It makes you wonder how beautiful Jannah would be…and how blessed would be those who would get a chance to see Allah SWT.

A friend who loves photography took a few photos of fall. I wanted to as well but I am always neck deep busy with my work that I hardly have the luxury to delve into such beautiful pastimes.

This is the tree most people would find me staring at when I walk my way to university. I don’t think this is THE one but the one I am fascinated by come fall or winter, is this type of tree. In winter you’d see this very tree all bare with tiny red cherries peeping under the white creamy snow. SubhanAllah if this isn’t a huge blessing then what is?

“And when you look there [in Paradise] you will see a delight [that cannot be imagined] and a great dominion” [Al Insaan 76:20]

The different colours is what makes life interesting. The biggest lesson that I learn from this photo is that diversity brings in colour, whether it’s diversity of interests, culture or nationality. Different colours can definitely co-exist peacefully and that harmony makes them so beautiful.

“O Mankind, We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other. Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is he who is the most righteous of you” [Al Hujraat 49:13].

“And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colors. Verily, in that are indeed signs for those who know” [Al Room 30:22]

The first leaf had to build the courage to fall and start a revolution. Because it had the hope that the revolution would bring about a refreshing new change.

‘And most of the mankind would not believe even if you desire it eagerly’ [Yusuf 12:103]

O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! (1) Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. (2) Half of it, or a little less than that, (3) Or a little more; And recite the Qur’ân (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style (4) Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, laws). (5) Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing oneself, and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allâh). (6) Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties, (7) And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion. (8) (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakîl (Disposer of your affairs)[] (9) And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. (10) And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses), those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. (11)  [al Muzzamil 73:1-11]

My favourite kind of trees at UofC. Almost black trunks and yellowish-green leaves decorating them. I guess I can’t have enough of trees.

“…They are your garments, and you are their garments” [al-Baqarah 2:187]

I really love this picture because it seems as if the colourful bushes are standing on the sides of the glorious path you’re walking. As if they’re waiting for your arrival some of them craning their necks to see who this special person is. I surprise myself with my imagination sometimes.

“‘Adn [Eden – everlasting gardens] of Paradise, whose doors will open for them” [Sa’d 38:50]

“…And angels shall enter unto them from every gate [with the salutation]: “Peace be unto you for that you persevered in patience! How excellent is the final home!” [Ar-Rad 13:23-24]

At-Tirmidhi reported with a hasan isnaad from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (saw) said:

“I was shown the first three to enter Paradise: the Shaheed (the martyr); the one who is chaste and proud; and the slave who worships Allah (swt) with devotion and is faithful and sincere towards his master” (Jaami’ al-Usool, 10/535, attributed to Ahmad, al-Haakim and al-Bayhaqi)

(apologies for the loose translation)

And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He.

And He knows whatever there is in the land and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but He knows it.

There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record.

[Al Anaa’m 7:59]

What a refreshing way to go back to studying.

This was indeed a great mental therapy.

I enjoyed doing this.

I hope my readers did as well.

Alhamdolilah for being blessed with all functioning faculties and the ability to write!

Few special words in His Remembrance:
