Mercy for Believers and Punishment for non-believers

Superiority of the Believers in the Oneness of Allah and the Punishment of Jews and Christians

Narrated Abu Musa (RA): Allah’s Messenger SAW sad: On the Day of Resurrection , my Ummah (nation) will be gathered into 3 groups:

(1) one sort will enter Paradise without rendering an account (of their deeds)

(2) another sort will be reckoned an easy account and admitted into Paradise

(3) Yet another sort will come bearing on their backs heaps of sins like great mountains

Allah will ask the Angels though He knows best about hem: ‘Who are these people?’

They will reply: ‘They are humble slaves of yours.

He will say: ‘Unload the sins from them and put the same over the Jews and Christians; then let the humble slaves get into Paradise by virtue of My Mercy.

[Hadith Qudsi- this hadith is sound and mentioned in Mustadrak of Hakim]

-taken from ‘110 Ahadith Qudsi

  • The Mercy of Allah SWT is infinite and we should never despair of His Mercy after we’ve repented (Caution: not before committing a sin!)
  • This hadith shows us the Love of Allah SWT for His Believers. It reminds me of  verses 256-257 from Surah Al Baqarah: “Whoever disbelieves in Tâghût[evil forces of Shaytaan] and believes in Allâh, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allâh is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (256) Allâh is the Walî (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light…(257)”
  • To Allah SWT belongs true friendship and only He will help us in the time of our need, therefore whenever we feel that we are burdened either by our sins/worries, then we should think of this Dunia similar to a well of darknesses with us stuck in it. Allah SWT has thrown us a lifeline into the well by making us believers! If we hold onto that Rope of Allah SWT having firm faith in Him, He SWT will pull us out regardless how ‘hopeless’ our situation is. SubhanAllah!
  • No other Deen will be accepted by Allah SWT after the Quraan has been revealed. Allah SWT says in Surah Ale Imran, verse 19:  “Truly, the religion with Allâh is Islâm. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, then surely, Allâh is Swift in calling to account.”
  • We should do more dawah and help out our non Muslim acquaintances and should work much harder so that they are saved from the Fire
  • This hadith qudsi is a reminder of Allah’s Name/Attribute of Ar-Raheem :)

And Allah SWT knows Best.
