Love Allah and Liberate Yourself!

Asalamoalaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

I’m overcome with the emotion of love.

I’m not joking.

But this love is not for a human.

Not temporary. Not delusional. Not chained.

It’s for the Creator of humans…

Permanent. Eternal. Peaceful.

Frees one soul from the chains of worldly desires.

It’s so beautiful that amidst large crowd of stressed out people, I feel as if I’m floating in the air.

Yes! Me of all the people, especially since I’ve always been a stressed and anxious individual ever since I was a kid.

Is that the sweetness of Iman?

My Rabb knows best.

Is His Love in my heart a test?

Could be. Because in this world, everything, a blessing or a problem is a test.

All I know is that I want to meet Him and talk to Him. I don’t want to hasten the Day of Judgement because I don’t know what lies ahead of me but I pray that they are a collection of deeds which don’t cause regret on the Day of Judgement.

I just would love to meet Allah.

But I have to make some preparations for that meeting.

Is it required for each one of us to Love Allah or is it enough to pray like a robot five times a day?

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبًّ۬ا لِّلَّهِ‌

“…But those who believe, have intense love for Allah (than anything else)….” [Quran, Surah Al Baqara, 2:165]

Notice that Allah has followed ‘the intense love for Allah’ after ‘those who believe’. This means that if you are a Muslim, a believer, you should not only love Allah but have intense love for Him. ‘Intense’ implies that you love Him over anyone or anything.  You love Him inspite of what happens to you, without any conditions, like He loves you. That you love Him over your spouse/kids/job/money/degree etc.

How can we know that Allah loves us?

Say (O Muhammad SAW to mankind). “If the sea were ink for (writing) the Words of my Lord, surely, the sea would be exhausted before the Words of my Lord would be finished, even if we brought (another sea) like it for its aid.” [Quran, Surah Al Kahf, 18:109]

Imagine writing a letter to someone you love. You never run out of words and you feel like writing and writing…that’s how Allah describes His love for us. The Quran is a book of Allah’s Words, sent especially to us. He says that His Words would never run out even if another sea were used as ink! SubhanAllah!

Finally, have a look at this:

Fall in love with Allah and free yourself of pains and depressions…

It’s not your duty to worry about your or others’  problems in the world. Say Allah’s name before you begin an action , follow up with action and leave it to Allah to take care of the rest.

Sit back and enjoy the love of Allah…

…not by watching the latest season of House or Grey’s Anatomy

…but by reciting the Holy Quran in the last part of the night as His Beautiful Words unfold a heavenly atmosphere…

Relax and live the life of a traveller in this world!

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them both), he relates that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) once held my shoulders and said:

“Live in this world as (if you are) a traveller or a stranger.” And Abdullah ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: “If you live till night, then do not wait for the next day (i.e. do not have hopes that you will live to the next day), and if you wake up in the morning do not have hope that you will live till the night. And take (advantage) from your health before your sickness and take advantage of your life before your death (i.e. do every possible obedience in your life before death comes to you for then no deeds can be performed.)”

[Bukhari and Tirmidhi]

So Allah’s there, waiting for you to return. He’s been waiting for so many years…from the time you reached puberty…the time when you have to fulfill your religious obligations.

The real question is, are you willing to return? Or are you too busy worshipping money, yourself or the people around you?

And my Rabb knows Best.
